The Pretty Polly Wedding Organizer

Because Pretty Polly has been in business for 20 years we have a large base of bands to work from and, in most cases can match a band and a client's need to a tee. When you call us to find a band for your wedding, you'll need to be prepared to give us the following information:
  • Date, time and place of your wedding reception.
  • Approximate number of guests and if there is an average age and or if there will be a variety of ages.
  • Type of music you are looking for. Is it a dancing crowd? etc...
  • Your budget for entertainment.
  • Do you need music at other times in the reception: dinner, receiving line, etc...?
  • How we will Help

After we speak with you, we check the appropriate band schedules for availability on your wedding date. We then send you a cassette tape and promotional material for you to consider. If there is a band you are interested in, we give you a list of dates and places to see the band perform live. Always remember we are here to help you find the best band for your wedding and, if after hearing the first group of tapes, you would like more choices, please let us know. There is no cost to you for this service. We are paid by the band we book.

    Booking the Band

Once you have found a band that you like, we will issue you a contract. We ask that you return all three copies of the contract with the required deposit. The contract is then forwarded to the band for their signature. Remember, you want your contract signed by the band, not an agent. The agent isn't going to be at your wedding, the band is.

You should contact us two months before your wedding date to set the final details. We ask that you return the wedding informations sheet, sent with your contract, which includes introductions to be made, first dance selection, cutting the cake, etc. We keep a copy of this and pass a copy on to the band leader. Some bands will learn up to two songs for each wedding, but they will need a cassette copy of the song and the sheet music.

Sometimes, after booking the band for your reception, you will decide that you need a chamber trio for the cocktail hour or a bagpipe player for the service. Let us know! We have access to a variety of performers, and usually members of the band performing at your reception can handle a ceremony or cocktail hour, as well.

That's all there is to it! We try to make the process as simple and pleasant as possible. If you have any questions, or would like to receive further information, please don't hesitate to call us.

We look forward to working with you.
